NAAFI

Business Conferencing from NetServices earns NAAFI major rewards

The Challenge

NAAFI (Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes) exists to provide community support services for HM Armed Forces and their families. Communication is a key part of their business. NetServices have been working with NAAFI since 2005, providing their MPLS WAN. Working closely with them enabled NetServices to fully understand the way their business functions, and offer them ongoing support.

As the relationship strengthened, NAAFI requested advice on their conferencing solution. It is a basic necessity that NAAFI has some form of telephone conferencing platform in place within their organisation - however they were dissatisfied with the costs from their current supplier. The new solution must offer NAAFI all the functionality they had with their previous supplier for a far smaller financial outlay.

The Solution

NAAFI chose NetServices dedicated Business Conferencing platform as it was reliable and capable of connecting their various sites. The conferencing system links employees across 4 sites in the UK and 70 in Germany, as well as other countries across Europe. It guarantees the same level of performance they received with their previous system but the key element is that it achieves this in a far more cost-effective manner.

NAAFI also liked the fact that the platform offered flexibility. The portal now offers NAAFI better functionality for managing changes than the previous system.

The Benefits

The financial reward is the key benefit for NAAFI who is now saving an average of 75% against their previous supplier.

Despite this cost saving NAAFI are still receiving the same functionality when compared to the previous service. The quality has been described as "of an excellent standard, even with a significant numbers of colleagues dialed in from across a large geographical area".

The flexibility of the service was also a key factor for NAAFI, and will be for many companies considering a Business Conferencing platform. The functionality of the portal allows numerous options for conferences. Conference parameters are chosen and changed per call by a designated administrator.

System integration is the key driver for system integrators. Systems integrators that have a meshed network capability provide a consultative skill and managed service. NetServices have BT Martlesham labs confirming that their QoS IPStream (QoS over IPStream) works as sold. As part of their DSL products NetServices also provide QoS ADSL, QoS DSL (QoS over DSL), QoS DataStream (QoS over DataStream) that are all QoS over broadband solutions that deliver MPLS broadband services. These in turn build into Managed MPLS VPN, enabling a Converged MPLS VPN meshed network. NetServices is an IPCarrier (SIP Carrier) and therefore delivers managed SIP trunks as part of a SIP trunk network that supports managed hosted IPT. As a market leading Systems Integrator NetServices has recently integrated and launched their managed video network solution that includes Video over mobile using mobile broadband technology allowing complete Converged video networks. Converged broadband installations for video services use QoS DSL and QoS ADSL technology that are future proofed as 21CN users will work in a meshed solution in a managed video network. Managed Mobile Networks that deliver mobile leased lines can now from part of managed integrated mobile WAN solutions. Managed mobile data services are available in providing synchronous mobility data services and are instantly available for mobile disaster recovery (DR). In the simplest form managed mobile networks that deliver mobile leased lines are a replacement to a fixed line installation if the installations are temporary, mobile or instantly needed.
